Girls Trip to SLC!!!

This weekend was GREAT FUN! I took my mother-in-law to Utah this weekend and we had a WONDERFUL time! We went down for the Relief Society Conference which was an AMAZING experience. I have never been in a room with SOOO many women before, and you all know what it sounds like when a bunch of women get together.... VERY LOUD, but the neatest thing was that even though there was no an announcement made as soon as the Prophet walked in it was instant silence the spirit in the conference hall changed as soon as he entered. It is definitely an experience you truly can't describe. Anyway! Here are some pics from our great adventure.....

For our first stop we went to Tai' Pan my favorite decorating store! Then after that I took her to Nielsen's Frozen Custard soooooooo yummy where we had dinner and our custard! Sooo FUN!
After leaving the custard place we checked into our Plaza and went to bed!

The next day we were bored so we painted our toes and fingers! Don't they look Pretty! Walked around the Gateway were I got 2 WAY cute pairs of shoes... shhhhhh don't tell Doug (J/K) I love shoes if you already didn't know that! :) Doug did think they were pretty cute!

Then we took a Lovely nap, got ready, and went to Temple square and wondered around there for a little while before going to the Conference. It was funny I had a sister missionary take this picture and when we were walking away some guy that works for the church ran up and said that looks like a great picture and asked if he could take our picture, but he took A LOT more than just 1 than he said well I hope you see this real soon! So we might be famous!!!!!
(We will be more than happy to give you our autographs if and when it is published!hehehe)

It was such a BEAUTIFUL weekend. Couldn't have asked for a better day!

Then on Sunday we slept in (oops) but we still made it to the Music and the Spoken Word! I think we woke up about 8:30ish and we needed to be in our seats around 9:00ish so we were extra fast that morning getting ready, and we made it with about 30 minutes or so to spare! Hooray for US! It as always was BEAUTIFUL! They talked about rainbows and following your dreams. They sang my 2 very favorite songs A Child's Prayer, and How Great Thou Art. At the beginning they introduced certain people I was amazed how many different cultures were there in little Salt Lake! Some were from China, Bulgaria, and many other places. A lot of them were studying Religious Freedom and English.
Then after that we went and had a great breakfast, changed our clothes, and came home! I loved being able to spend some one on one time with Kris and for the opportunity I had to make some great memories with her! I knew she was an awesome lady, but I was able to get to know a different side of her. She is a great person, with a loving heart, full of great advice and knowledge and LOTS of fun! Anyways if you get the chance I STRONGLY encourage you to go. It is just not the same watching it on T.V. or listening to it on the radio! Have a great day EVERYONE!!!
Thanks Kris for going with me! I love ya!

My Heart Attack Moment!!!!

So today was a super fabulous day until about 2:30. (Well even then it wasn't that bad come to find out) My little sweet son decided to check and make sure his momma's heart worked. He succeeded!!!! While I was in the bathroom I heard this LOUD boom immediately followed by Karston screaming. I ran out only to find my sweet little man lying face down on top of our dinning table chair. I guess that while I was in the bathroom he climbed up and the chair tipped over and he hit his face hard on the back of the chair plus on the wood step that seperates his room from our living room. So I called the dentist took him in because I thought for sure he had done something to his teeth because there was soo much blood and no teeth to be seen. Karston was SOOOOO good I couldn't believe it he just laid on me and Dr. Randy Smith asked him to open his mouth and he did. He was so brave! LUCKILY for us his teeth are good, but he ripped the little flap that connects your lip to your gum. They couldn't do stitches and so we have to use a mouth wash on a Q-tip to keep any infection from happening. I take him back in 4 weeks to make sure there was no other damage. So for right now if and when you see my little man NO I did not beat him, but the chair surely did! He will more than likely have a black eye, bruised nose, and a very FAT lip but all in all I think I can handle that. I cried after it all happened and he looked at me like "Seriously mom what is your problem YOUR not the one hurt." It is amazing what these small people do to us moms!

His Lip... Sorry about the bugger in his nose. It is a little sensitive so he wouldn't let me wipe it! I wonder what it will look like tomorrow! He did get a horse from the dentist which is now his favorite for a moment! Apparently he didn't learn anything from it because as soon as I put him down he went straight for the chair again..... GEESH!

TEAM DEVIN! Karston's New Glasses!

This last Saturday was TONS of fun! Karston and I went down to participate in the first annual buddy walk. The buddy walk is to help raise money for Down syndrome workshops. We met down at Jensen Grove in Blackfoot and then we walked about 2 miles. Doug's cousin has Downs and so we walked for Devin. So we were called "TEAM DEVIN." It was a great experience. The little girls there were lovin Karston and Karston was LOVIN the attention. Afterwards they had a little carnival, but we didn't stay because there were LOTS of people there. I was glad to see a very successful turnout! It was oodles of fun and I am so doing it again next year!!!!!

Mr. Karston has a new pair of glasses. It cracks me up! The other day I looked in his room to find him with these sweet glasses on working his dance moves. Since then just about every day when he finds him they are back on his face and he walks around the house with them on. I love this little man! He always makes his momma laugh!

Of Food and Color!

So as you can see Karston GREATLY enjoyed the yummy Spaghetti that his Grammie's visiting teacher brought her as she was recovering from surgery she had on both feet. Thank You SOOO very much Adele Harper! We luv ya!!!!
If you know Doug you will know that he does NOT like to wait to eat. Well neither does Karston... I apparently was taking to long getting him some breakfast so he decided to help himself with some yummy Corn Flakes! I am so glad I am raising such an independent little man!!!

Ohhhh my how do I start... Okay so many of you know that Karston's Grammie has her own private label skin care and makeup line which she calls Beauty Unique. She also does color analysis for her clients. Well I got curious and wanted to know what my little man was so we did his colors while entertaining grammie! As you can tell He is DEFINITELY not cool in his coloring.. due to the fact you see the color more than him!
Now look how harmonious these colors are with his skin! Definitely warm coloring!
After a few other tricks we found out he is
dada da dummmmm
A WARM AUTUMN!!!!
I couldn't believe it! Doug and I are both springs and we produced an Autumn... Go figure!

THANKS GRAMMIE AKA JOYCE MULLEN BEAUTY UNIQUE 523-2659
CALL FOR YOUR APPOINTMENT IN 5 WEEKS! SHE WILL BE BACK ON HER FEET BY THEN!!!!!!! WE LOVE YOU!

We had a great week in California! We did not do a lot, but we truly did do A LOT in Disneyland! I don't think there is not one ride or one famous Disney character we did not get an autograph from! We created lots of fun memories and the best part of it all was that Doug FINALLY got to meet 2 of his very favorite characters! Mickey being one of them! Just look at that happy boy! I am so glad that your dreams came true honey! There are LOTS more pics, but I don't have room to put them all on, nor do I believe that I could keep anyone's attention span that long!
