Stitches... :(

So in my previous post I mentioned how nice it is to camp at Heise for the reason of  being close in case of an emergency.....Well we actually had a little emergency this summer! This post and the previous post go hand in hand. After doing a few pictures we went back to camp and had some treats. The kids were playing on the grass and the next thing I know Karston is crying and holding his head. He said he hit his head when he moved his hand well blood went everywhere. So I cleaned him up and looked and decided this boy is probably going to need some stitches. First though I wanted to make sure stitches were needed because if not I would hate to throw away money for an unneeded emergency visit. So we called Aunt Jodi and Uncle Blaine! It's so nice having nurses in the family!!!! They looked at it and said ...."Yup Stitches." So off to Urgent care we went.
                                                                  Poor sad baby.
This was the only band aid we had so we went with it!
Hahaha its as big as his forehead! He is so cute!
They came in and cleaned it then put some numbing stuff on it. We had to have him lay down because if this numbing stuff dripped in his eye it could cause some SERIOUS eye problems. So thankfully Karston is pretty easy to just do as he is told. Then came the actual stitching part. That was TERRIBLE. They swaddled him up and that just really made him mad. He screamed and cried and they made me be mean and hold him down. I just kept saying this is for his own good. That is what I have to say to myself when my babies are being hurt. Makes me feel better about torturing them I guess.
Anyways 6 stitches later and we were back to camping. This boy is my camper. He LOVES to camp. Trying to get him to let me take him away from camping and down to the doctor was like trying to put a cat in water. Legs were sprawled arms were pushing against the van door trying to keep me from putting him inside. Seriously it was crazy. I had to PROMISE him that we would be going back to camp. When he finally decided to trust that mom would let him come back he was okay with it but boy did he give me a work out. So as promised we came back to camp even though it was late.
Grampie stayed with Jayden while Grammy and I took Karston in. When we got back grampie had put out the stuff to make Smores since he knows Karston loves doing that. So we all made smores and went to bed.

What an exciting trip this turned out to be. Thank goodness for first aid kits and thank goodness we were close to help and it wasn't worse than it was. I sure love these two babies of mine. They are priceless and I couldn't imagine my life without either one of them!

How many faces can one kid make?

As many of you know we LOVE to go camping! Especially the kids and mom! So this summer we went up to Heise and played there for a few days which is always fun! Plus it is close to home so in case of an emergency or a forgotten item we aren't to far from help, stores, and home. So I decided to see if I could use this cool rock and get an updated picture of my babies. Well folks I think we have reached the stage in my kids life where they are confused at what the word "SMILE" means. This was what we ended up with. Some are kind of cute and some are just plain hilarious! So without further ado the many faces of mostly Karston since Jayden wouldn't hold still long enough for any more than like 3 photos.

Everytime we take pictures we ALWAYS end up with one of Karston like this. If you notice the missionary picture on the side of my blog...yup there it is! Love that face so much!

Wahoooooo! Last picture and we finally have a semi normal Karston smile! Now onto Jayder Bug!
Hahahaha I love that cute little scrunched up nose and crooked little smile!

Now an attempt with getting them both together. Notice how Karston's normal smile magically appears!

Well after a long battle just to get the above pictures mom gave up and we went back to the trailer for apparently some much needed Whip Cream?! I guess it was sitting on the table and well Jayden likes to find things that are just sitting around on the table and make an AWESOME mess!

The WHIP CREAM Monster has emerged! Ahhhhhhhhhh!
While Jayden was becoming the Whip Cream Monster Karston apparently went for a stroll with a roll! :)
Before bed.... Our last attempt of getting a Smile out of this boy..... Yup still  not working!
So there you have it... Camping adventure #1 and we haven't even skimmed the surface with updates yet! Hahahaha I hate it when I get behind on this thing!

Jayden + Dentist = $$$$

Something tells me that our little Jay Jay Bug lover of anything and everything that contains TONS of sugar, and who is not the "biggest" fan when it come to the art of Teeth brushing is going to end up with lots of dental work! So far we have had 4 cavities and now we have 4 more and 1 broken tooth. He hates the dentist and the second we pull up to the dentist office he is begging me to take him home. Trust me little man if it wasn't for your own good I would totally turn around and take you home. That would be SOOOO much easier than dealing with a big old temper tantrum. So anyways... That is my Jayden and well he has an addiction to getting cavities! Love him so much though cavities and all!

Teach them while their young!

I love yard work. This last summer was kind of depressing because we moved into a house where I really don't get to do a lot of the yard work because it is to big. Doug however LOVES it because he got a new mower so he is always out there having a great time. When I was younger my dad took on a lawn mowing business where we had a few lawns to move during the week and or on the weekends. I am not going to lie at times I hated it but most of the time I loved it. First because it gave me some time to spend with my dad, second because it got me up and going and doing something outside, third because it taught me how to work, and lastly because I really do love mowing lawns. A sense of accomplishment is fulfilled I guess you could say. Anyways so when we do yard work we try and make it a point for our little ones to start learning how. Won't hurt them and gives them something to do outside! This is Doug's new mower and we love it. I need to start practicing my skills but sometimes I just go out and ride on Doug's lap its fun! Mostly because he can't see so it makes for a fun ride!!!
Can't forget spraying the Dandelions by the looks of it we only have a few to kill! Shouldn't be that bad right?!
It is good to practice the push technique as well. You never know when you might have to resort to using some energy to mow your lawn.

I truly believe your never to young to start something (well unless you are a new little teeny tiny baby then maybe) Teaching your kids something new is sometimes frustrating but also so exciting when it finally clicks and they are so proud of themselves. I guess its the same way with me and cooking. Once I finally get it I get so proud of myself and what I made. I am FAAAAAR from being the type of cook my sisters and my awesome mom-in-law is but hey I try and maybe one day I will be almost to par!!!! Love my life and I love my family!!!

1-800-KAR-STON! Bike towing services!!!

Hahahaha this boy just cracks me up! I can't get enough of him. We not only love our new house but we love that Karston now has a place to ride his bike and so does he! One day we were doing some outdoor work and I came out and saw this little smart kid! I guess if you get your bike stuck at the end of the driveway call 1-800-kAR-sTON! He will come save you! Hahahaha actually this little contraption didn't work exactly how Karston had hoped but hey he tried! Way to figure things out buddy! Your so smart!!!

Pink Eye Shmink Eye!

I have to say Pink Eye is SOOOOO sad. Look at this little face. I have NEVER had pink eye or at least none that I can remember but my boys have each had it a few times and I hate it. Not only do they just look like they have been crying for hours on end you can tell that their little eyeballs are so sore. And I HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE putting eye drops in my eyes let alone anyone else's eyes especially my boys! Thankfully its generally just one or the other and not both at the same time and thankfully Doug and I have never had it. Anyways there it is our sad baby Jay with pink eye. Doesn't he have the most ADORABLE face EVER though!!!! Love him!

Brothers and Friends!!!

You two have to be the cutest pair of brothers ever. I truly believe that Heavenly Father knows the order in which to send me my children. Karston has pretty much always been a sweet boy. Although he had his moments for the most part he is just a nice kid. Then we have my Jayden who ALSO is a sweet boy but man can he stand his ground when he wants something. More often then not Karston is crying because of something Jayden did to him versus Jayden crying because of something Karston did to him. They are COMPLETE opposites I mean just look at them. They look NOTHING alike except for maybe their little noses. Other than that they are as different as night and day. Thankfully when all is said and done though these two little men really are pretty good friends too. They are always together and when one is apart from the other they are bored out of their gourd. Jayden thinks very strongly that he is just as big as Karston, and can do absolutely EVERYTHING Karston can do. Which when it came to potty training I was thankful for it. So quick and easy! Here are just a few tender moments these two have. Boy how I do love them and I truly love how different they are. Makes for a much more eventful life!!!!
Nothing I love more than listening to little people sing Primary Songs especially when its these two angel babies!
They told me and I quote "See ya mom we're off to Grandma's" What a fun ride that would have been!!!
How lucky Doug and I are to have these two funny babies! They are our most precious gifts we could have EVER received!!!!

My Little Mess Makers!

So after we moved in I was not thinking very clearly and put some kid fun items LOW! I know right... Hello what kind of a mom are you? One that likes to clean up messes apparently. It's a good thing Mr. Jayden is so darn cute because he REALLY  had a great time with the flour. It was EVERYWHERE. He even made it up the stairs to his room. Oh well..... I love my Jayden and this will pass so I am trying real hard to enjoy these messes while I get them, because we all know that they will be gone WAY to soon!
Jayden? What are you doing? Painting mom! Your doing a great job buddy!!! Tank you was the conversation we had!!!!
This little masterpiece is still under investigation. Karston says Jayden did it, Jayden says Karston did it and blah blah blah blah blah! Oh well it is still beautiful none the less and THANK Heavens it was a water base paint so it washed right off!
Love these little mess makers of mine SO very much! What a fun and beautiful blessing they are to me and Doug!!!

Karston Turns 4!!!!S

April 27 Karston turned 4 years old! I can't believe how quick the time flies! His birthday was lots of fun this year. Especially having the new house and everything. So we began the day with daddy waking him up! That in and of itself was a great surprise.
It wouldn't be a birthday without our Birthday banner! It stays up until July when Daddy's birthday is over!
Once we were awake and ready to roll. We took Karston out to Reed's Dairy. They were having a customer appreciation breakfast that day so we went out for Pancake's, and Ice cream and of course Chocolate milk! It was so yummy!

After eating they had all their animals out so we walked around and saw them and petted a few. Karston LOVED it. In fact he saw Mr. Reed himself and went up and told him "Thank you for doing this for my birthday its AWESOME." Yup folks he thought this big event was especially for him. And why not! I always wanted a big community bash for my birthday!

Grandpa and Grandma Cox were a little busy with stuff on his birthday that they couldn't help but Grandpa Cox did come over in between reffing soccer games and had some grub with us. That was fun to see him and hang out for a little while before his next game. We did celebrate with a dinner on Sunday and I am sorry I forgot my camera so that was sadly undocumented. I feel terrible about that.
Following breakfast we headed up with the Purcell Clan to Green Canyon! Fun place and the kids love it! We swam for a while there but failed at getting any photos. Water and cameras don't mix to great! We did have lots of fun though! After Green Canyon everyone came over to our house and we had presents, cake, and visited. It was great. Karston and Jayden got a combined birthday present this year. Best present ever TRAMPOLINE! Well worth the money and they have spent a TON of time on this thing. I especially love the net. Makes me not so nervous with the little kids jumping on it.

Look at all these cute babies jumping without a care in the world! I love it. Especially little Jayden's stance. So cute!

Grandma and Grandpa Purcell gave the boys another combined gift which was a Sand Box. They couldn't have asked for a better present. They would spend hours in this thing! Unfortunately when they discovered the sand can be shoveled out well lets just say I had large deposits of sand around the yard. Oh well they then enjoyed their swimming pool! And let me tell you we were in that swimming pool just about every day this Summer, It was GREAT!

Karston wanted Cup Cakes So cupcakes he got. Baseball is what he picked this year. Why I have no idea.

Present time!!! We have the best family ever. He received soo  much fun stuff. He has used and loved everything so Thank You every one!!!!

That night we met up with Grammie and Grampie Mullen. They took us to eat at Pizza Pie Cafe. It was so yummy. We love that place. Thank you so much Grammie and Grampie!

All in all it really was a great day. This boy is the light of my life. He has the most tender hearts and is kind and loving. Being four he loves learning, loves to go to work with daddy and grandpa, is very protective of his momma (which I personally LOVE). He is the best big brother ever. Jayden is usually the one making Karston cry instead of the other way around. He is still not afraid of ANYONE. He keeps telling me that Heavenly Father wants him to talk to everyone. Even though I don't I am proud of him and he is such a great example to me. He can pick out anyone who is having a sad day and is quick to go over there and tell them its going to be okay and gives them a hug. He has the cutest smile, and is just one of the greatest gifts my Heavenly Father has blessed me with. Stop growing so quick my little bug your moving faster that I can keep up with. Happy Birthday baby boy here is to a VERY happy, healthy year for you. Thanks for the fun memories and for just being my baby and choosing your dad and I to be your parents. We don't know what we did to deserve you but boy are we lucky!!!!
