On our adventure to NAUVOO! Day 1 and 2!!!

Well our adventure has begun! I am behind on a few of our adventures lately, but they are coming (well maybe). We took dear Doug to the airport for his jaunt to New York Sunday morning and then the boys and I left with Grammie and Grampie Mullen retracing the Mormon Pioneer trail. So far we have driven about 1,000 miles and I am happy to report Karston STILL loves his carseat. I have such great little travelers! Jayden has been snoozing away, but at night wants to be held. I figure if that is the worst he gets I am good! So here is a picture of all our luggage LOTS of stuff huh! We had no idea as to what kind of vehicle we would get and let me tell you we are pretty much smashed in, but it has worked fine thus far!

So here we are at one of the rest stops getting some much needed 2 year old energy out!!! I was chasing him around and he kept running into this little corner so Grammie grab a picture! Cute huh!!!

He LOVED staying at the hotel in Rawlins and riding around on the suitcase carrier!

Waiting for the pilot car to come take us!

WYOMING!!!

DAY 2 MARTINS COVE!!!

I couldn't get the pictures to upload that said Welcome to Martin's Cove, but that is where we are! We took this Roover up to Martin's Cove instead of doing the trek. I know such slackers huh!!! Karston LOVED it!!!

This is Veil crossing which was constructed so that no one would have to cross Sweet water again. It was dedicated to those that crossed and brought people over. Grammie the MOVIESTAR!!!

Here are the statues which are dedicated to the priesthood. In honor of their willingness to help others which is part of what the priesthood is in charge of! Very Touching!

Elder Ward our driver!History of Martin's Cove! The tree that was on the ground is the tree that supposedly a young 21 year old cut. While waiting the 5 days at Martin's Cove this young man was ready to sit on a rock and give up. Other priesthood members saw this and kept telling him to go and cut another tree. This is what saved his life.

MARTINS COVE (ABOVE) (4 Men who carried people across the river)

The River

Karston chased this bunny in a constant circle then when a lawnmower came both the bunny and Karston stopped and stared at it! It was so funny!!!

The handcarts! Behind is Devil's Gate which is where over 500,000 (70,000 mormons) went through. It was also a landmark to look for as they came across.

Pull Karston Pull You can do it!

Sweet babies!

Soooo tired! It is so neat getting to learn and be reminded of how lucky we are for what we have and gain a greater appreciation for those who sacrificed and truly believed that this gospel is true to go through those hardships so that they can continue to practice what we know to be true!!! Next couple of days are just driving so there won't be much to report until we reach Minden!
